The Nuits de Fourvière or Fourvière Nights festival is an exceptional multi-disciplinary festival, one of France's finest. Taking place in a legendary venue, the festival combines a range of art forms for your enjoyment. Ever since it was first held in Lyon back in 1946, the "Fourvière Nights" have grown in scope and reputation. Today the festival is an internationally-recognised artistic event and a major date on France's cultural calendar. Financed by the Rhone department, the Nuits de Fourvière represents two months of multi-disciplinary performances, activities and events with a programme that is accessible to all and, for the organisers at least, very demanding. Aside from the antique theatres, the festival takes place in the Odeon theatre (which can seat 3,000) and all around the city's artistic neighbourhood.
